Target Recruitment is currently looking to expand our team by hiring a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator for our Alexandria office. Job Overview

As a Payroll Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of our Human Resources department. You will be responsible for various HR tasks, focusing primarily on payroll administration, onboarding processes, and employee coordination. You’ll ensure that all aspects of payroll are handled with precision and timeliness, making sure that employees are compensated accurately and on schedule. Additionally, you’ll assist with onboarding new hires, ensuring they have a seamless and positive experience as they join the Target Recruitment family.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Management and Administration:

  • Daily Payroll Operations: Handle the daily payroll operations for our Alexandria office. This includes collecting and verifying timekeeping information for employees, processing payroll, and ensuring all payroll actions comply with company policies.
  • Accurate Payroll Calculations: Calculate wages for employees accurately, taking into account any overtime, deductions, bonuses, and other adjustments. You will work closely with our payroll software to ensure that all numbers are correct and the payroll runs smoothly.
  • Timely Payroll Delivery: Ensure payroll is processed on time and all employees receive their payments in a timely and efficient manner, addressing any payroll issues as they arise.
  • Compensation and Benefits Tracking: Keep an up-to-date record of compensation rates, benefit plans, and new hires’ information. You’ll help track wages, salaries, overtime rates, and benefit deductions to ensure compliance and accurate payments.

2. Onboarding and Employee Support:

  • New Hire Coordination: You’ll be responsible for coordinating the new hire process. This includes scheduling onboarding sessions, assembling new hire materials, and maintaining accuracy in all onboarding checklists.
  • Onboarding Materials Preparation: Assemble and create professional onboarding materials for new employees, ensuring they are detailed, informative, and properly presented.
  • Team Integration Support: Assist new hires in smoothly transitioning into their roles, ensuring they have all the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
  • Communication with Departments: Maintain communication with various departments to ensure new hires’ information is correctly relayed and payroll data is updated accordingly.

3. General HR Support:

  • HR Data Management: Maintain and update employee records within the HR system, ensuring all personnel files are accurate, up to date, and meet legal and company standards.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure all HR processes comply with applicable labor laws and internal company policies.
  • Collaborative HR Support: Support the HR team in various administrative tasks and other HR-related activities, as needed.

Job Requirements:

To succeed in this role, we are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or any relevant field is required.
  • Experience Level: Fresh graduates are welcome to apply! Candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Excel Expertise: Strong command of Microsoft Excel is a must. You will be required to use Excel for payroll calculations, tracking, and reporting. Familiarity with formulas and data analysis is highly beneficial.
  • Fluent in English: Excellent spoken and written English is required, as you will be communicating with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: You should have a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Team Player: While this role involves a great deal of independent work, collaboration with other departments is key. You should be a team player who can communicate and coordinate effectively across different teams.
